Evan W Ervin 1919-2006
Evan W. Ervin, age 87, Messing Road Jackson, Ohio passed away at Four Winds Jackson, Ohio, Thursday September 28, 2006. He was born in Jackson County May 11, 1919.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margarite (Dickerson) Ervin, Grandparents Thomas Jefferson Ervin and Nancy Rebecca (Melvin), a son, Terry, one brother, and three sisters.
Evan is survived by wife Sarah (Sue) Martz Ervin; two sons, Tom (Nancy) Ervin of Jackson, Ohio, Mark (Pam) Ervin of Wellston, Ohio, daughter, Tina (John) Leonard of Jackson, Ohio, daughter- in- law, Mary Ervin of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Evan was a U.S. Army veteran with service in World War II and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign; a life member and Chaplain for the D.A.V., and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Calling hours were held Monday, October 2 at the Mayhew Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday, October 3, at 1 p.m. with Elder Harry Harrel officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
