John L. Ervin, 77, of the Iowa, Obituary

John L. Ervin, 77, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at Cincinnati United Methodist Church in Cincinnati. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for John and his family.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary, of Marshalltown; his nine step-children; Donna Carrick of Marshalltown, Dave (Brenda) Kane of Bettendorf, Tom Kane of Marshalltown, Vicki Carradus of Davenport, Rick (Connie) Kane of Colona, Ill., Steve (Becky) Kane of Bettendorf, Pat (Homer) Moore of Odessa, Texas, Debbie (Mark) Albee of Marshalltown, and Sue (Trent) Kiersey of State Center; his 34 grandchildren; his 39 great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild and his sisters Roberta Glovas and Louise (Bob) Ritter, both of Cincinnati.
