Amy thank you for your reply. You are right. It was Hamilton County but they still baptized their child in Knox county.

The thing I want to solve is when and where he died. I believe this is the man but I need more proof that he is the correct man with a second son named Jeremiah born in 1839.

I tried everywhere to find his death in Ohio and Indiana. But I failed. Again a Sarah Bouser or Bowser now an Irvin remarried to a John Waters in Allen County Indiana and she brought her two sons with her into the that marriage. I do have sources that say counter each other. some say Jeremiah was born n in Ohio and other in Indiana both with the same birth date.

I think during that time period there were not many divorces and it seems he was catholic. So I think he didn't divorce but died 1846 between 1839 and 1846.though he could of ran off somewhere but very unlikely

I tried looking at the Bouser or Bowser line and no mention of a John Ashley unless I missed it.

I tried the newspaper records of Allen county Indiana between 1839 and 1846 (where Sarah and the kids were last documented to live)for death announcements but the papers didn't not exists for microfilming. My luck
