Peter B. Ervin 1941-2012

Peter B. Ervin, age 70, of Erie, died on Friday June 8, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in East Orange, N.J. on September 24, 1941 son of the late Howard B. and Mary I. Bechtel Ervin. Peter graduated from New Castle High School and Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh. He was a Logistics Engineer at Amsco Steris Company for 37 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and the Siebenbuerger Club. Peter had many happy memories on his boat and enjoyed meeting and greeting people while volunteering at St. Vincent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara J. McMinn Ervin. He is survived by two sons, Brian P. Ervin of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Duane R. Ervin of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Richard Ervin (Patrice) of Hobart, Tasmania; a grandson Drake Ervin of Colo.; a sister-in-law Rebecca (Ralph) Heil; a niece Emily (Todd) Trejchel; and a long time friend Kitsy Hirsch, all of Erie. He will be sadly missed by his dog Katie. Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 602 West 10th Street, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 West 7th Street, on Friday at 11 am with Rev.
