Former football player for OSU, under Woody Hayes. Member of VFW, DAV, American Legion and Varsity O. Survived by wife, Mary Bova/Ervin; daughter, Tonya Maria Ervin (Chad Holt) and their daughter Madison Marie Holt; son, Nicholas Joseph Ervin; niece, Elizabeth Walker Green and husband Rodney Green; great-nephew, Zachary Green; parents, Evan and Sarah Martz Ervin; brothers, Mark (Pam) Ervin, Thomas (Nancy) Ervin; sister, Tina (John) Leonard; uncle, Fred Martz; close sister-in-law, Kay Bova and fiancé Fred Ferguson; brother-in-law, Bill (Jeanette) Bova; many nieces, nephews and friends.
