Virginia Lee Ervin (1944-2010)

Virginia Lee Ervin, 66, of Shawnee, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the home of her daughter.

She was born May 6, 1944 in Colgate, Ok the daughter of the late Edmund Paul and Lydia Barthule VanMeter.

She was a 1962 graduate of Sheridan High School, former employee of Ralston-Purina and a member of Shawnee Eastern Stars Bluebell Chapter 151.

She is survived by her son, Duane (Tammy Morehouse) Ervin; daughter, Audra (Jim) Dishon; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Hannah, Logan, Lucas, Olivia and Jonathan Dishon; sisters, Vivian Harvey, Paula (Greg) Meadows, Pat VanMeter, Carol VanMeter, Jeri DeMent, Therese Brunton, and Vicki (Dave) Heston; brothers, Ed (Phyllis), John, Ken (Lori), Wes (Carla), Tracy (Gina), and Brian VanMeter; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas N. Ervin; brother, Vic VanMeter; and sister, Peggy Kopis.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are in charge of the J. E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee.
